Toby Holt Appointed Club Captain for 1871
Ealing Trailfinders 1871 are pleased to announce Toby Holt has been selected as Club Captain.
Toby expressed his delight with the appointment, saying, “It's an honour to take on the role of Club Captain here at 1871. I can't wait to make a meaningful impact both on and off the pitch.
“When I first joined the club, I encountered a vibrant social hub for players from all backgrounds, and this is something I am deeply committed to nurturing and developing.
“I want to thank my predecessor, Liam McDonagh, who has played such a vital role in the club over many years. His dedication and leadership have been excellent, and he has definitely inspired me to continue his amazing work.
“We have exciting plans to continue the great work done fostering unity and the one club ethos from the men’s to the women’s team, from the 3rds to the 1sts. We are dedicated to enhancing the club experience for everyone involved.
1871 Chairman, Rodger Hitchcock, believes this appointment is another step in developing a ‘one club’ ethos, stating, “Toby has been a long-term playing member of ETRFC and brings with him the spirit and ethos of 1871 Men’s Rugby.
“The opportunity to work alongside Toby and the 1871 Players Committee will only help us prosper.
“Together we will also see closer ties with 1871 Women’s Rugby and further their integration as one club.
“I wish Toby all the best in his new role and look forward to a successful season.”
