Who we are

Player with head taping being lifted in the lineout and catching the ball.

Ealing Football Club played its first match in 1869 on Ealing Common, prior to the founding of the RFU in 1871. Legend has it that representatives from both Ealing FC and Wasps FC attended the wrong venue and therefore failed to become founder members of the Union.

150+ years later the Ealing Trailfinders rugby club is thriving. In 1999 The Club took up residence at Vallis Way and now shares these excellent facilities with the professional men’s Championship and women’s Allianz Premiership squads, the amateur squad, the U18 players and 600+ minis and youth players.

In 2019 the 1871 heritage was put to good use when Ealing Trailfinders 1871 RFC was established which enables The Club to have professional and amateur players playing men and women’s league rugby at the same time.

This One Club environment offers development pathways for professional and amateur, male and female, and young and old players of all abilities and ambitions.

If YOU are interested in playing amateur rugby then Ealing Trailfinders 1871 has three amateur men’s teams and an amateur women’s team, plus social and veterans teams, so there is a place for everyone. Our exceptionally friendly team will make you very welcome. Don’t hesitate to contact us and join a training session or just come down to introduce yourself.
